“THERE ARE MANY LIKE IT BUT THIS ONE IS MINE”
Public Transport in London - and most other places for that matter - is a necessary but fairly joyless experience. We wanted to create something to make commuters re-evaluate the public service they are able to take advantage of every day.

There are ten million Oyster cards in circulation in the UK, with an Alternative Oyster card we hope to make yours a bit different through the use of classical materials and sentiments that reflect the locomotive pioneers of yesteryear.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING LICENSED
We work closely with Transport For London  to keep our designs as authentic as possible. All our London Underground inspired designs feature the classic New Johnson typeface as well as official TFL logos and messaging.

TFL supports the work of the Alternative Oyster Project and has given us permission to use their likeness in our designs. We are the only officially licensed wooden and plastic card holder designers, accept no imitations.

The Alternative Oyster Project also gives an amount of annual profit to the TFL recognised charity The Railway Children.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Matt Longstaff graduated from Buckinghamshire Chilterns University in 2006 with a BA in Graphic Design & Advertising. Since then he has been working as a writer and conceptor with his creative partner Per Nielsen for London based digital agency AKQA London.
